The Cathedral of Sevilla

The Cathedral - Santa María de la Sede - is the third largest cathedral of the world: its dimensions are 130 x 76 metres in lenght and width and 59 metres in height. Before it was build in the 15th century, there was a mosque exactly at the same place, and only its tower, the Giralda, still remains.
View on the backside of the Cathedral, with the Giralda, the tower of the former mosque. The Giralda. There are no stairs - only inclined planes - because yore the regents used to go up on the back of their horses.
An impressive view on the height of the Cathedral from an inner courtyard. The loveliest outer view of the Cathedral. The yellow coaches can be found anywhere in Sevilla - for tourists.
Overview over the Cathedral's roof and Sevilla - after having reached the top of the Giralda. This foto is obviously taken on the Giralda, too. You can see the Plaza de toros and the river Guadalquivir.
